A bathroom is such as important room in the house but my goodness it can be an expensive one to redo. Instead of breaking the budget with new tiles or new cupboards here are a few very simple tips to give your bathroom the update it needs.
- Start with a blank canvas.
This means take everything out. Everything out of the cupboards, off the walls, take down the shower curtain, not even a toilet roll in the toilet roll holder. You want a blank canvas so you can start from scratch. - Visualise
Take a moment to picture the bathroom the way you want it, simple things like colours, style, storage. Ask yourself what do you want on display? what do you want hidden? - Making it happen
Now you have an idea of what you want in your mind put it to action. You can purchase a wide range of low cost items at places like Spotlight, Target, Big W and Kmart. If you want a new towel set I would recommend Target they do some great discounted packs (10 towels for $50). Purchase all your little bits and pieces in one go – new towels, soap dispenser, toothbrush holder, mini vase, shower curtain, towel hooks/stand. - Redecorating
Now it is time to put everything in its place. Don’t go and put the new things where the old was, otherwise you have achieved very little. Mix it up a bit so the room has a whole new feel.
