We love crayons in our house and when you have crayons, you have a ridiculous amount of broken crayon bits rolling around.
Well we collect up all of those little bits of crayon and turn them into ‘drawing jewels’ (the nickname my little one came up with). We put the broken crayons into cupcake tins (limit the number of colour you put in each tin to avoid the colours going muddy, I also like to add pieces of white and black because it creates a nice contrast when they are finished.
Once we have filled the cupcake tins we bake them in the oven at 180°C for about 5 mins or until the liquid is melted. I let the wax completely dry (this can take some time) but once they are done we pop them out of the tins and you have a brand new set of ‘drawing jewels’.
