A vertical garden is great for those smaller outdoor spaces, it also creates a great feature and fresh herbs are the best! – of course you don’t have to fill your garden with herbs but who doesn’t love fresh herbs? Here are a few tips to creating your very own vertical garden.
Set a trellis about 2.5cm off the wall allowing for air circulation around the plants.
A metal trellis is best this way you can weld reinforced steal – obviously not everyone has access to welding tools so a wooden trellis does the same trick but when securing pots onto frame you will need to choose a strong manipulatable steal.
Little pots with a lip are best for vertical gardens – the lip acts as the shelf to run reinforced steel under it which secures the pot in place from the trellis. You want to place horizontal and vertical rods into the frame to support the collected weight. Now fill the pots with the herbs you desire.
